What is the cost of counseling?
Dayspring Center for Christian Counseling is a nonprofit and we manage our costs to provide affordable treatment for everyone:
Unlike some private practices that only accept private pay, we contract with most major health insurance companies and employee assistance programs (EAP) such as BCBS, Aetna, Cigna, Medicare plans, Compsych, Ever North, Uprise Health, Tricare, and UHC.
The majority of our clients pay $25 or less per session when using health insurance. We will gladly check your health insurance in advance of your appointment to determine your expected copayment based on information provided by your provider.
Some clients, for personal reasons or lack of health insurance, choose to pay our published fee of $135 per session.
Do you offer financial assistance?
Dayspring Center for Christian Counseling does not use a sliding fee scale but we do have some solutions that increase your support system:
Graduate Intern Counselors on staff can provide highly discounted therapy sessions. These Interns are supervised by our Directors to insure the quality of your care.
Dayspring Counseling also has a Compassion Program where we partner with churches in Alabama who desire to sponsor an individual or family for counseling. By offering the church a highly discounted rate we are able to share the cost.
Finally, we also partner with several local nonprofits to provide counseling to their clients.
What are your hours and locations?
Dayspring Center for Christian Counseling offers extended hours to fit your busy schedule:
Mon–Thu: 8:00 am – 8:00 pm
Fri: 8:00 am – 12:00 pm
123 Sand Mountain Drive NW, Albertville, AL.
Teletherapy: Available for all Alabama residents.
How long is an appointment?
The normal appointment lasts about 55 minutes:
Unlike a traditional doctor’s appointment where the doctor goes back and forth between exam rooms, the counselor is scheduled to attend to your needs solely.
Adolescents might have appointments that only last 30 or 45 minutes to match their attention span.
What information do you need from me to schedule an appointment?
To schedule your first appointment requires very little information:
Client's first and last name.
Date of birth.
Your preferred phone number.
Your preferred email address.
Name of your health insurance company along with your ID number or other payment agreement.
A short reason for visit.
What should I expect after scheduling my appointment?
Before You Arrive: You’ll receive an email to complete your digital intake forms. These include a brief self-audit of your feelings and standard privacy authorizations.
Checking In: When you arrive at our Albertville office, check in at the front desk. We’ll verify your insurance, identification and collect any co-pay (most are $25 or less).
The Consultation: Your first session is a 53–60 minute consultation. This is a "get to know you" time where you and your counselor will assess your needs and build a personalized treatment plan.
The Commitment: While every journey is unique, we typically recommend a minimum of 6 sessions to see significant and lasting change.
Where can I find professional Christian counseling in Alabama?
Dayspring Center for Christian Counseling provides professional licensed counselors who have the ability to add Christian scripture and prayer into the traditional treatment plan when the client requests Christian counseling and the therapist agrees the addition of scripture or prayer will benefit the treatment plan:
Counselors can integrate biblical principles to help clients find hope and spiritual renewal when it is appropriate for the treatment plan.
Our counselors provide Christian compassion and understanding.
Our counselors are healers and not judges, pastors, or evangelists.

Does Dayspring Counseling have a policy against canceling an appointment?
Dayspring Counseling reserves the right to charge clients a reasonable fee of $50 if clients do not provide a 24 hour notice of cancellation:
We charge this fee because we have scheduled a counselor to be present and prepared to spend an hour providing counseling with you according to your prescribed treatment plan.
Will my personal health information and what is said during my session be kept confidential?
Yes, the client/therapist relationship is one protected by law. Information disclosed during the session is not released unless the client gives the therapist written permission to do so. There are exceptions to this when the therapist is required by law to report this information to the authorities:
A court/judge may subpoena or order the release of information.
If a client presents a danger to him/herself the therapist will assist to keep the client safe by reporting the danger to the appropriate authority.
If a client shares their intention to kill someone.
If a client shares their child/elder abuse experience.
