Are you seeking counseling, not Christian counseling. Not a problem in Alabama, especially at Dayspring Center for Christian Counseling. Dayspring counselors assume that new clients prefer secular counseling until the client clearly requests Christian counseling.
Dayspring counselors are not evangelists attempting to convert clients to Christianity. We are counselors who believe we are called to provide comfort and healing to our clients through evidence-based psychological therapy, thereby enhancing their quality of life. It is the client’s decision, with consultation and agreement with the therapist, whether or not to introduce religion/spirituality into the counseling experience. If a client prefers to avoid religious discussion, then the counseling sessions will not include it.
Dayspring does not discriminate between clients based on race, culture, religion, or sexual orientation. Everyone receives the same respect, nonjudgmental approval, and a safe environment to receive counseling. Counseling by nature is a very relational experience that requires both parties to be comfortable with each other in order to be effective.
Some clients who seek counseling at Dayspring come from a Christian family heritage but they are questioning their faith. Our counselors understand that everyone has their own spiritual journey and will assist you to the degree that you are comfortable with. While those clients don't want to discuss religion, they feel comfortable talking with a counselor who has the same foundational beliefs that they were brought up with.
