Get to Know Maddie Furguson, Digital Business Specialist

I am always ready to help clients, either in the office or on the phone. It is important to me to help people. I am also there to help clients access the Patient Portal.

Helping clients to be able to use their insurance, private - Medicare - Tricare, is my behind the scenes job. For a counselor to provide services that are paid by the health insurance company the counselor is individually contracted with that insurance company. The industry calls this “credentialing“ and takes around 2 months to establish a contract but can take several months.

My responsibilities to Dayspring also take me into the digital world that has become so important for staying in contact with clients. If a new client sends an inquiry about health insurance benefits I verify their benefits for them using the provider portals.

I oversee our office network that operates our phones, computers, printer, and fax. I maintain our company website to make sure it is current and working as well as posting to our Facebook site. Both of these sites require me to create graphic designs that make the sites fresh and informative. Almost all marketing materials are now created and produced digitally from business cards to brochures and flyers which requires my time and creativity.

Tele-Therapy is becoming more important to reaching clients that desire Christian counseling. I assist the counselors to setup sessions in advance of the appointments on the video platform of their choice. Then I make sure the client has the link to easily sign in to the session.

My family and I attend church here in Albertville. My husband and I are very involved in the Youth at our church but on Sunday morning you will see us operating the audio / visual systems for the service.
